BERRY BROS & RUDD DOMINICAN RUM VINTAGE 2013
DAY 10 of 24.
“I’ll be home for rum.”
Next dram that comes out from box number 10 is one hell of a mystery followed by rarity. Mysterious distillery, single cask rum from barrel number seven, matured in Madeira casks, packed in only four hundred and seven bottles exclusively for Kirsch Import. All things considered it would be a shame to miss an opportunity to try this beauty, especially when we know that this dark brown, terracotta color is coming from ageing process not from caramel or additives.
LAND: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
ABV: 56,6 %
AGE: 7 YEARS
MATURATION: MADEIRA CASKS
AROMA & NOTES: DESPITE OF LACK OF CARAMEL COLOR, THE CARAMEL NOTES NOTES NOTICEABLE ON THE NOSE TOGETHER WITH CINNAMON AND CHOCOLATE. ALTHOUGH THE FEEL ON THE PALATE IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WITH SWEET AND FRUITY NOTES, EVEN AT THE BEGINNING THE RUM SHOWS ITS DOMINICAN CHARACTER. DESPITE THE HIGH PERCENTAGE OF ALCOHOL, THE FINISH IS BALANCED WITH A LONG FRUIT TASTE AND A QUIET HIDDEN NOTE OF COFFEE.
