On the 14th day of Christmas we got number 12,single estate rum from Panama. Ron Abuelo Añejo XXII Años Three Angels. In the Ron Abuelo lineup we could say that this is top shelf rum, or top warehouse rum. In glass clear with deep intensity and brown color.

RON ABUELO AÑEJO XXII AÑOS THREE ANGELS

NOSE

The nose is clean, with pronounced aromas of caramel, oak and orange. A lots of plums and hints of cinnamon and tobacco in the background.

PALATE

Off dry, warming and pronounced. Quite rich on the palate with tobacco, chocolate, plum marmalade, and a hint of cinnamon just like on the nose, but as the flavor slowly lingers dates are coming also. Balanced with a long and complex finish which lasts and lasts…

CONCLUSION

As it was said before. Balanced, diverse in flavors and complexity with long finish. Outstanding sipping rum for those who like sweet rums.

HACHEZ NOBLE BITTER  CACAO 66%

If we have to find the perfect classic rum pairing combination in this rum advent calendar this would be one, for now. Hachez with 66% cacao, light fruity and not so sweet is a perfect companion for rum with chocolate and honey vanilla flavors. Where chocolate is not sweet, comes Ron Abuelo with its sweet notes, and opposite. Where rum lacks fruity freshness, chocolate comes in with its discreet fruity notes in just the right amount for the rum to shine.
