On the twelfth day of Christmas we got one rum gift. And it is a gift, as the guy on Bar Convent Berlin said. Their target audience are gift buyers, rather than rum connoisseurs. Rum has a nice design, package, looks luxurious with its price, there is variations with chocolates also, and it tastes nice for rum inexperienced people.
APPEARANCE
It has everything that one spirit needs to have. It is clear with pale intensity and gold color, like it is written on the bottle.
NOSE
Clean condition on the nose with medium intensity. Hazelnut chocolate is the first thing that comes on the nose, then comes the spiciness of nutmeg. In the background traces of orange notes are masked by the dominance of nutmeg.
PALATE
Medium sweet and medium intensity. Smooth and spicy at the same time, with intensive chocolate and walnut character. Hints of oak and pepper. Almonds and caramel are coming a little bit later with its medium finish with some complexity.
CONCLUSION
Good to very good spirit, excellent as a gift for Christmas to somebody who likes sweet drinks and who wouldn’t mind the overly pronounced spiciness, characteristic of some spiced rums.
