GUATEMALA GRAN RESERVA 40% RUM NATION
DAY: 9 of 24.
LAND: GUATEMALA
ABV: 40%
MATURATION: EX BOURBON CASKS
YEARS: 4 YEARS
On the ninth day of Christmas we have in our glass the last heritage of legendary Fabio Rossi, the ex owner of Rum Nation. Guatemala Gran Reserva is his last project where he put his passion for rums while he was owning the company. This molasses rum comes from Botran distillery, but the rum was aged in the Hondo River region at 185 meters above sea level; quite humid and the warmest part of Guatemala.
APPEARANCE
Clear and pale in the glass with gold color.
NOSE
When the glass is next to the chin, pronounced aromas of flower and honey come on the first followed by raisins and hints of pineapple and caramel.
PALATE
Dry, smooth and pronounced with sweetness that comes from pineapple and vanilla. Raisins with caramel are presented on the palate too. Sweet, little bit black and minty finish. Finish is long and quite complex.
CONCLUSION
Outstanding spirit definitely, with a touch of passion that Fabio Rossi was bringing into his (ex) rum line up.
HACHEZ DARK MILK CHOCOLATE 55%
Creamy and bitter at the same time this chocolate creates a perfect dessert in combination with Guatemala Gran Reserva. Fruity and sweet flavors from rum highlights the bitterness from chocolate for a second and then turns it creamy fruity dessert.
