APPEARANCE

In the glass El Supremo is clear with medium intensity and dark amber color.

NOSE

Clear condition and already with the glass on the chin  pronounced intensity with wooden aromas of oak and chestnut and a hint of spiced gravy. On the second sniff vegetal notes like carrot and the grass are in the background and pushing in the front the notes of vanilla, cinnamon, orange marmalade and hint of jasmine. In total quite fruity.

PALATE

Dry, spicy but warming. Pronounced intensity. Presence of oak and cinnamon spiciness with a vegetal flavor. Carrot is present in combination with bitter cacao and plum. Long finish and very complex that goes from spiciness to warm mouthfeeling bitter chocolate flavored with nutmeg and allspice.

CONCLUSION

Outstanding spirit, quite spicy but well balanced with a spectrum of flavors and aromas that are developing through the whole time of sipping. Definitely it is not a beginner rum. This rum requires real rum aficionados that will appreciate the whole process of production and aromas and flavors that are later delivered.

EL CRIOLLITO A.FLORES

HALF CORONA 3,5 x 50

Opposites attract. Sometimes for a short time, but only because El Crillito is a half corona, and a sample of El Supremo is only 20ml. Otherwise this would be a quite good combination. El Criollito offers sweet notes just like El Supremo, but it is much milder than a rum which brings spiciness on a much higher level after just one sip after a cigar. They also complement each other perfectly, because where cigars lack vegetal flavors, they are complemented by rum flavors, and while rum’s lack of coffee notes is complemented by cigars. In any case, a perfect pair for aficionados who know how to enjoy the moment and the complexity of what this pair offers.
