On the 21st day, just 4 days before Christmas things are getting quite sweeter. We flew just like hummingbirds to Venezuela to join their famous Nectar Club. It is a flavored rum. Molasses rum is aged between 8 and 10 years in American oak and then it is infused with honey, different fruits and spices. And then it is colored with caramel coloring.
APPEARANCE
Caracas Club Nectar is clear in the glass with pale to medium intensity. Color is amber, and according to the rumors it is not chill-filtered.
NOSE
Clean on the nose, Caracas Club Nectar comes with light to medium intensity. As expected, notes of vanilla immediately come, followed by the aroma of chocolate cake with fruit. Prunes and figs come to the fore, followed by notes of bananas and tropical fruit.
PALATE
Medium sweet, smooth with light alcohol burn. Honey comes immediately after the sip then comes a flavor of caramel and something like Haribo Cola gummy bears with light citrus -orange note. Finish is medium but very complex with lingering flavors of honey, dried fruits, chocolate and light oak.
CONCLUSION
Very good spirit for those who like infused rum, especially in these festive Christmas times.
